Happy Friday everyone!
If you noticed that lately you’re more prone to getting sunburned all of a sudden, certain medications may be the culprit. Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen and antihistamines like Benadryl can cause you to be more sensitive to the sun. Always use sunscreen and wear wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses to further protect you from the sun.
Have a great weekend and make sure to stay hydrated and protected.

Great tips! I learned that the hard way when I was on medication last summer. The doctor forgot to mention it would be a side effect.
Thanks! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. I know sometimes things like this are overlooked which is why I thought to write this.
It’s great that you did! You could help so many people!
I’m lucky, I never get sunburn. Happy weekend Stephie! Have a great one.
Yes, some people are more likely to get sunburned but it’s always a good idea to practice sun safety. 🙂 Hope you had a great weekend too!
I actually didn’t know that about ibuprofen and Benadryl. Good to know now though! 🙂 Have a nice weekend.
Thanks Jen! I think it depends on how often you take it but you know with people having allergies and such, I thought it would be a good point to bring up. 🙂
Sun protection 101!
🙂
Great tips! I didn’t know that about anti-inflammatory medications or Benedryl. That’s good to know! 🙂 xo
Thanks Katie! Some may depend on the frequency you consume them in but you know, it’s good to know just in case. 🙂
True! I consume anti-inflammatory meds often actually with my health issues but I’m always indoors a lot anyway. 🙂
Especially with this heat I bet. It’s like an oven once you step your foot out. Hopefully you’ll find some relief travelling to Michigan, at least for a little bit. 🙂
Yes exactly! It’s an oven out there! lol. I try to avoid going out as much as possible. Though apparently we’re bringing the heat with us to Michigan because it’s going be in the 80’s there and that comes with humidity unfortunately. I’ve been so used to dry heat. It will be nice to get away though. 🙂
