Happy Friday everyone!
I’ve heard and seen many people post about using lemon juice in DIY skincare treatments due to its vitamin C properties. While lemons do have a high concentration of vitamin C, they have a very low pH which can actually burn your skin. Carefully formulated vitamin C formulas might be a better option to get your topical dose of vitamin C and if you have sensitive skin, look into magnesium ascorbyl phosphate.
Have a great weekend!

I’ve learned over the years to leave skincare to professionals… DIY is risky!

Stash, can I take this statement and frame it? Lol. I’m serious. I mean, I’m all about a few DIYs here and there but I feel for most skincare problems, DIY can only take you so far and instead be risky. What most people don’t realize is that natural ingredients are one of the highest skin sensitizers out there. It irks me to the core when I hear people use baking soda as an exfoliator. I use it to neutralize an acid because of its alkaline nature, but I wouldn’t use it as an exfoliator by itself. Sorry for the rant, lol. I feel a post on this coming soon. And thanks for the comment! 🙂
