Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was great. 🙂
Since I’m currently obsessed with the Lancome Juicy Shaker, lip oils have recently found themselves on my radar. With summer sometimes calling for a lighter lip, I decided to check out a lip oil mentioned by one of my favorite bloggers, Stashy on Stash Matters. (Go follow her blog-you won’t be disappointed!)
Let’s take a look at what I thought about this luxe lip treatment!
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil
Described as, a “revolutionary formula—rich in effective plant ingredients— [that] was inspired by Clarins’ best-selling Face and Body Treatment Oils. This gel-like non-sticky oil with sheer color nourishes and enhances lips with high shine.”
Pros
Moisturizing
Long-lasting power
Light-weight-doesn’t feel heavy
No over-powering scent
Cons
Pricey
Made my lips burn
Limited color choices
Overall: I really wanted to love this lip oil but unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. After wearing this for about 2 hours, I noticed that my lips felt raw and had a burning sensation. I stopped using this for about two days and the burning sensation went away. The moment I tried it on again though, my lips had the same raw feeling and any lip product I applied after it felt stingy. Aside from this issue, I did like how moisturizing it felt when I applied it and although it has a thicker consistency, it did not feel heavy at all. I purchased the color Honey, which goes on clear and I figured I can use it underneath or over different lipsticks. They also have a raspberry and red shade if you’re looking to add a wash of color.
Have you tried this lip oil or do you have any other lip oil recommendations? Comment below!

Wowee, you’re quite with the review! I just took pictures of this one, along with other lip oils I’ve been wearing! 😛
But, so sad this didn’t agree with you! What ingredient do you think was the culprit? I just looked it up and it’s mainly silicones, jojoba oil, hazel seed oil sunflower oil… and hmm rosemary, maybe that’s the culprit! I understand people can be senstive to it.

Haha, well I couldn’t wear it for too long hence why I was able to put up the review faster. I’m bummed this didn’t agree with me either. I’m actually not sure what ingredient is to blame. Rosemary might be it because I’ve had a reaction to the SuperGoop Rosemary makeup/sunscreen setting spray. Oh well. Maybe the Sephora or YSL one will work better for me.

Sorry to hear this made your lips burn 🙁 can I be dumb and ask what the purpose of a lip oil is?
stephieestie says
Me too. 🙁 And no, it’s not a dumb question at all Chanelle! Lip oils are supposed to be a more hydrating and nourishing treatment but most of them have a lighter feel to them than what you would expect. They’re actually quite interesting although not super long lasting. 🙂

When do you use one? Like what happens to your lips to need a lip oil?
stephieestie says
I use it just because some of them have sheer tints. I think it appeals to some people because it provides deep hydration to repair chapped lips and nothing else has worked.

I have this lip oil in the Raspberry version and I really like it, so it’s such a shame this didn’t agree with you!

I was so disappointed too as the little bit I was able to try I really liked. Glad it worked for you! At least the Lancome Juicy Shaker worked for me.
